Former Governor of Ogun State, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, on Saturday expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in the state.

Amosun who spoke with newsmen after casting his vote at Ward 6, Itoko, Abeokuta, described the exercise as peaceful, orderly, free and fair.

The former governor said his participation in the exercise was to demonstrate support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

“We are orderly, and that is how it should be. We are speaking with one voice. Everybody agrees that we want our president to continue the good work he is doing.

“Today is for the president, and we all must come out to show and demonstrate that we are for him and for the APC. That is why I am here,” he said.

Amosun said party members across the country are united in their support for Tinubu and the APC.

“We have all taken that position, not just here but across Nigeria. Every ward is participating in this process, and we also have to do our part.

“I am happy with our people; you can see they are excited and eager to be part of what is going on,” he added.

Also speaking, member representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Afolabi Afuape, commended residents and party supporters in ward 6 for their massive turnout.

Afuape described the turnout as a strong indication of president Tinubu’s growing acceptance among the people.

“The turnout today clearly shows the acceptability of the president,” he said.

The lawmaker assured party members that ward 6 would continue to deliver strong support for the APC and Tinubu ahead of future elections.

“We will continue to do our best, and I am confident that this ward will produce one of the highest votes for president Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the general election,” he said.
