Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja, has adjourned the alleged ₦10.27 billion fraud trial involving Ali Bello and Dauda Sulaiman until June 2, 2026.

Ali Bello, who is a nephew of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission alongside Sulaiman on an amended 16-count charge bordering on alleged money laundering and misappropriation of public funds.

During Monday’s hearing, the 17th prosecution witness, Ahmed Audu Abubakar, testified while being cross-examined by defence counsel, A.M. Aliyu (SAN). The witness spoke on several transactions linked to the acquisition of properties in Abuja.

The properties mentioned in court include buildings located at No. 35 Danube Street, Plot 1773 Guzape, Sheriff Plaza, Ikogosi Close, Durban Street, and Dalla Hills Street.

Following the proceedings, Justice Omotosho fixed June 2, 2026, for the continuation of the hearing.
