  • Nigerian comedian MC Oz has lamented the continuous rise in the cost of living after revealing that the price of cooking gas increased within hours.
  • His complaint sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing frustration over inflation, rising food prices, and worsening economic hardship.

Popular comedian MC Oz has sparked conversations online after lamenting the rapid increase in the prices of goods and services in Nigeria.

The comedian complained about the worsening cost of living, revealing that the price of cooking gas increased within just a few hours.

Sharing his frustration, MC Oz said:

“Like I said yesterday, prices of goods are increasing every minute in Nigeria. I just finished complaining about foodstuffs in the market yesterday, and earlier this morning 1kg of cooking gas was ₦1,450. Now, just a few hours later, it has increased again to ₦1,550.”

His statement quickly gained traction online as many Nigerians flooded social media to share their experiences with rising prices across the country.

Reacting to the post, @KarunwiOlasubo2 wrote:

“He should go back to the market on Monday and hear price.”

Another user, @olamitihide, said:

“Cost of living keeps increasing everyone is on survival mode.”

@ann_omatf also reacted, saying:

“Every time you step out, there’s a new price waiting for you.”

Some Nigerians linked the worsening economic situation to insecurity and unemployment.

According to @weizie7:

“One of the reasons for high terror attacks is high cost of living and zero or no education, all this engineered by politicians.”

Another user, @Cherish92560052, claimed the situation was even worse in some areas, writing:

“I bought a kg 1900 yesterday…”

The rising prices of food items, cooking gas, transportation, and other essentials have continued to generate concern among Nigerians struggling with inflation and economic hardship.
