Content creator Kolu has publicly opened up about his fallout with popular streamer and comedian Carter Efe, alleging unfair financial arrangements and revenue sharing during their time working together.
Speaking during a recent livestream, Kolu claimed that before he began appearing regularly on Carter Efe’s streams, he was asked to pay an annual fee of ₦5 million to be part of the platform. According to him, he negotiated the amount down to ₦4 million after pleading his case.
Kolu further alleged that despite contributing significantly to the success and entertainment value of the streams, he received only a small fraction of earnings generated from promotional deals and appearances.
He claimed that when brands paid Carter Efe millions of naira for promotions, he was often given what he described as a disproportionately low share.
“Before I started streaming with Carter, he told me to pay ₦5 million every year if I wanted to blow, but I begged him and paid ₦4 million instead. Now that I’ve finally blown, he doesn’t pay me well from gigs,” Kolu alleged during the broadcast.
The claims have sparked widespread reactions across social media, with fans and followers divided over the controversy.
While some users argued that Kolu played a major role in making Carter Efe’s streams entertaining and deserves better compensation, others warned him against listening to advisers they believe may be encouraging conflict for personal reasons.
