Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the FCT minister and former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has criticised the political strategy of Atiku Abubakar, the ADC Chieftain, and Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate.………
He accused the two political titans of hypocrisy in the statements that were made public on his official X handle on Friday, May 15, 2026.
Lere Olayinka, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, emphasised that Atiku Abubakar had pledged to serve a single term and then transfer power to the south. He believed that this promise was a ruse.
In contrast, Mr. Peter Obi, as per Lere Olayinka, pledged to serve a single term as president and then transfer power to the North if elected.
The senior special adviser to Nyesom Wike stated that the two political heavyweights’ promises suggested that they were both politically disoriented.
