KINGSLEY EBERE

A 32-year old man, Wisdom Solomon, has been charged before the Lagos Magistrate Court over allegations of abducting and defiling a 15-year-old girl in Alimosho.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the defendant was charged before Ogba Magistrate Court for abduction and defilement under the Criminal Law of Lagos State.

According to the Police, the defendant had between 11th March, 2026 and a subsequent date in March 2026,  abducted the victim at Lawal Close, Alimosho, Lagos, to an unknown place.

He was alleged to have committed the

offence said to be punishable under Section 269 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

In the second count, the defendant was accused of defiling the 15-year-old girl on the same date and location by allegedly having sexual intercourse with her.

The prosecution said the act contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, which deals with the defilement of a child.

When the matter was reported to the Police in the area, defendant was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command and was found culpable.

However, when he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
