Former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has submitted his nomination form for the 2027 presidential election at the National Secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja.

Amaechi submitted the form on Thursday, May 14, 2026. He was accompanied by a large number of supporters and local entertainers to the party secretariat, shortly after receiving the forms at his residence from Nasiru Babale Ila.

Speaking on his decision, Amaechi said he joined the presidential race to restore dignity to Nigerians.

He said he aims “to fight to restore dignity to Nigerians, make our country great and respected in the comity of nations, and bring unity, peace, prosperity and progress to our people.”

Also, some of his supporters who spoke at the secretariat described the day as historic.

They expressed confidence that Amaechi’s wealth of experience in governance and infrastructure development positions him as a strong contender with the capacity to deliver the change many Nigerians desire.
