Abdulrahman Bashir Haske, an APC governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, has launched a statewide tour spanning all 21 local government areas, with the goal of connecting with ordinary citizens and understanding what they expect from leadership.

The five-day tour, which kicked off on Monday, May 11, has already taken him through nine LGAs. At every stop, Haske has been vocal about his priorities, which include broadening participation in governance, empowering young people, improving education, reviving agriculture, and driving sustainable economic development.

He has consistently stressed that the needs and expectations of the people will be the foundation of his political agenda.

The tour started in the Southern Senatorial Zone, covering Ganye, Toungo, Jada, and Mayo-Belwa, where he was welcomed by large crowds comprising traditional rulers, community stakeholders, youth and women groups, and party supporters a turnout that reflected considerable grassroots enthusiasm.

The second day saw him visit Lamurde, Guyuk, Shelleng, Numan, and Demsa, where he held consultative sessions with local leaders and royal figures, with discussions centred on unity, development, and collective progress.

As a mark of respect for traditional institutions, Haske began the tour by paying a courtesy call on the Gangwari of Ganye, presenting him with utility vehicles as a gesture of goodwill and partnership

Haske used the occasion to stress the value of maintaining a close and respectful relationship between political leadership and traditional rulers as a foundation for peace and development. He described his ties with the Ganye chiefdom as deep-rooted, built on years of mutual respect and shared goals.

The Gangwari of Ganye responded warmly, hailing Haske as a true son of the land and a man of destiny, and offered prayers for divine wisdom and guidance while encouraging him to remain grounded in the concerns of everyday people.

Throughout the LGAs he has visited so far, community members have spoken positively about his long history of giving back pointing to his philanthropic activities, support for education, and humanitarian work as evidence that his concern for people goes beyond political ambition.

Prominent figures including former Deputy Governor Martin Babale, former PDP State Chairman Abubakar Shehu, and Hon. Mansur Toungo also threw their weight behind his aspiration, describing him as a forward-thinking leader with the administrative experience, political maturity, and genuine commitment to public service that Adamawa needs.

The tour is set to continue through the remaining LGAs, with stops in Michika, Madagali, Mubi North and Mubi South on Wednesday; Maiha, Hong, Gombi and Song on Thursday; and a final leg covering Girei, Fufure, Yola North and Yola South on Friday.

Haske expressed appreciation to every community that received his delegation, reaffirming his conviction that unity and collective effort are essential ingredients for a prosperous Adamawa State.

He formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election on the APC platform on April 25, 2026, and obtained his expression of interest and nomination forms days later on April 28.
