The All Progressives Congress (APC) has moved its House of Representatives primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections to Saturday.
However, the rest of the previously announced timetable remains unchanged.
The party said the adjustment does not affect other scheduled primaries, including those for the Senate, State Houses of Assembly, governorship, and presidency.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC clarified that “previously announced primary election dates remain unchanged” except for the House of Representatives exercise.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) announces the postponement of the House of Representatives Primary Election for the 2027 General Elections to Saturday, 16th May, 2026,” the statement read.
It added that the Senate primary election will still hold on Monday, May 18, 2026, while the State House of Assembly primary is fixed for Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
The governorship primary remains scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2026, with the presidential primary slated for Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The clarification came hours after earlier reports suggesting that the party had altered its primary timetable, a claim the APC dismissed as inaccurate, insisting that only the House of Representatives date had been adjusted.
