A barber from Calabar has emotionally recounted how late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo changed the trajectory of his life and career.………
The barber, identified on Instagram as Ola Clovis Abang, shared a touching tribute in which he reflected on his relationship with the late actor and the impact he had on his journey.
According to Abang, he first encountered Alexx Ekubo through the windows of Mt. Hotel and described the actor as the first public figure to truly notice him and give him an opportunity when many others overlooked and doubted him.
He revealed that at the time, he was struggling and felt unrecognized, but Alexx believed in his talent and allowed him to work closely with him despite not knowing him personally beforehand.
Abang stated that the actor treated him with kindness and respect from the very beginning, adding that the opportunity opened doors he could never have accessed on his own. He explained that working with Alexx Ekubo brought him recognition, increased the value people placed on his craft, and eventually earned him respect in his hometown as a barber.
The young barber further revealed that what touched him most was not Alexx’s celebrity status, but his generosity and genuine care for people. He recalled that after only their second appointment, the actor invited him to his home, fed him, encouraged him, and introduced him to influential people who later became some of his biggest clients and supporters, including someone he identified as King Khaz.
Describing the late actor as someone who carried light and freely shared it with others, Abang expressed gratitude for the encouragement, opportunities, and support he received at a time when many doubted him.
He concluded his emotional tribute by stating that he would always remember the light Alexx Ekubo brought into his life and admitted that he deeply misses the late actor.
