Blair Alston Mercer Tindall (February 2, 1960 – April 12, 2023) was an American oboist, performer, producer, speaker, and journalist. She spent many years as a classical musician before writing her 2005 memoir, Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classical Music, which was later turned into a television series.
Blair Tindall was born on 2 February in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where she also grew up. She was born to George Brown Tindall, a renowned historian, and to her mother, Blossom Tindall. After finishing school, she spent 23 years of her life as a professional musician in New York City, playing along New York philharmonic, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and Orchestra of St Luke’s, where she was nominated for Jazz Grammy for her solo.
