Tension has gripped Igbesa, Ogun State, after policemen allegedly stormed the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH) on Tuesday night, May 12, 2026, and brutally attacked the Students’ Union President and several other students.………
Witnesses say the officers showed no mercy, using machetes and other weapons during the clash. The union president and the injured students are now receiving treatment in hospital, with some battling for their lives. Videos circulating online show the painful moment, including one officer shouting, “You want to die over what?” as the attack happened.
As of now, the exact cause of the confrontation remains unclear. The Ogun State Police Command has started a full investigation. Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni promised that any officer found guilty will face punishment. They appealed to students to stay calm.
