The family of the Bungoma man who was killed in his home by unknown assailants has emotionally spoken out following the heartbreaking incident.

Pascal Wakafura was attacked and killed at his home by thugs, leaving his family shattered and struggling to come to terms with the devastating loss.

Pascal’s cousin emotionally speaks

The medical officer was returning home late at night when he was assaulted and killed within his compound, sparking fear across the neighbourhood.

His cousin, Centrin Tunduli, opened up about the attack that robbed the family of a dependable and supportive member.

“It was around 1am when I got a phone call informing me that Pascal had been killed. I was confused and had many questions in my mind, wondering how he had been killed. I tried making a few phone calls to relatives here and there, but everyone was grieving.

I was afraid to leave my house at that hour because it was late and unsafe. I decided to wait until dawn before following up on the matter and visiting his home to confirm the incident,” he said.

How was Pascal Wakafura killed?

When Tunduli and other relatives arrived at their kin’s home, they found that his body had already been moved to the mortuary.

They confirmed that he had indeed been killed and began searching for answers regarding what could have led to the death of the father of three.

“He had entered his compound and parked his car, but the engine was still running when he went to close the gate since he usually opened and closed it himself. As he walked back after closing the gate, he encountered the attackers. We suspect they were hiding nearby.

He struggled with them, but they eventually killed him. They did not take anything from him. His money was still in his pocket, and his phone was untouched. However, he had injuries at the back of his head, so we do not know whether he was hit with a blunt or sharp object,” she said.

Pascal’s younger brother Godwin speaks

Pascal’s younger brother, Godwin, echoed Tunduli’s sentiments, adding that the attackers killed his brother without stealing anything from him.

He said investigators recovered a club and a piece of wood at the scene, with the club reportedly stained with blood, suggesting it may have been used in the attack.

“We just want to know who is responsible and why my brother was killed. What wrong had he done to deserve this? He lived with his family. His wife was inside the house, but she was too frightened to come out until neighbours arrived. The neighbours and his wife said he screamed, tried to defend himself, and struggled with the attackers, but unfortunately, he lost his life,” he said.
