Tracy Wambui told GossipsNG that despite applying for multiple jobs, she has yet to receive any positive feedback.

However, the difficult journey has not dampened her spirit, despite the intense financial struggles she continues to face.

Does Tracy Wambui have work experience?

The mother of one explained that she graduated in October 2022 and was initially fortunate to secure employment at a hospital where she had gone for her attachment.

“I got the opportunity while awaiting my graduation, and fortunately, they offered me an internship which lasted about 11 months. Because I was good at my work, they later offered me employment, but the terms were not favourable, and the salary was very low,” she shared.

The young woman worked there for 11 months before eventually leaving due to the toxic working environment, which she said included harassment.

Three months later, she found another job selling cosmetics in town, giving her renewed hope as she continued applying for jobs related to her career.

“It was not paying much since it was just a start-up business, but it covered my bills and my employer treated me well,” she said.

Unfortunately, Tracy lost her job in September 2024 after becoming pregnant, leaving her devastated and worried about how she would care for her unborn child.

With no family support and an absent baby father, the young woman expressed deep gratitude to the friends who stood by her during the difficult period.

“It was frustrating because it happened during the protests. I still reported to work even during the protests, but they still let me go. They never delayed my salary or treated me badly, but maybe the responsibilities that come with pregnancy made them look for another employee. My friends literally contributed money for my delivery. I have survived because of them,” she shared emotionally.

The mother of one also revealed that she has been doing online academic writing, but opportunities have become scarce, forcing her to look for another source of income.

She admitted that her situation has pushed her deep into debt as she struggles to provide for her young daughter single-handedly.

Despite the hardships, the resilient young woman told ,that her goal is to encourage unemployed graduates not to lose hope or look down on honest work.

Tracy said that although life may be difficult, hope for a better future is what keeps her, and many others facing similar struggles, moving forward.

She also appealed for help in securing any job opportunity that could help her offset her debts and comfortably care for her child.
