Full Breakdown of ADC Presidential Primary Results: Atiku polls 1.84 million votes as Adamawa, Kano lead massive support base

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar secured a total of 1,846,370 votes in the ADC presidential primary results, recording dominant victories across several states ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Key Highlights:
● Atiku Abubakar polled 1,846,370 total votes in the ADC presidential primary.
● Adamawa delivered Atiku’s highest votes with 177,141 ballots.
● Kano, Gombe, Bauchi, and Kaduna emerged among his strongest support bases.
● Atiku dominated both the North-East and North-West geopolitical zones.
● Lagos led South-West support with 37,783 votes.
● Anambra emerged as Atiku’s strongest state in the South-East.

The breakdown of the ADC presidential primary results showed Atiku’s strongest performances came from the North-East and North-West regions, reinforcing his longstanding political influence across northern Nigeria.

Adamawa State delivered the highest number of votes for the former vice president with 177,141 votes, followed closely by Kano State with 155,595 votes. Gombe recorded 136,933 votes, while Bauchi contributed 115,410 votes to Atiku’s total tally.

Kaduna also delivered a significant result of 108,784 votes, while Borno State recorded 86,084 votes in support of the former presidential candidate.

In the North-West zone, Atiku maintained strong momentum with Katsina contributing 74,444 votes, Kebbi 65,153 votes, Sokoto 63,823 votes, and Zamfara 60,500 votes.

The ADC presidential primary results further showed moderate support across the North-Central states, including Niger with 79,206 votes, Kogi with 48,351 votes, Plateau with 47,558 votes, and Benue with 45,760 votes.

In the South-East, Anambra State emerged as Atiku’s strongest support base with 58,566 votes, followed by Imo State where he secured 52,222 votes. Enugu recorded 33,879 votes, while Abia delivered 25,153 votes. Ebonyi State produced his lowest figure in the region with 1,210 votes.

Across the South-South region, Akwa Ibom gave Atiku 17,623 votes, while Cross River recorded 17,461 votes. Edo State contributed 15,918 votes and Delta State delivered 10,023 votes. Rivers State recorded one of the lowest figures nationwide with 912 votes.

In the South-West, Lagos State produced the highest votes for Atiku with 37,783 ballots. Ogun State followed with 25,634 votes, while Oyo recorded 23,011 votes. Ekiti, Ondo, and Osun also contributed to the overall tally.

The results, released by ADC chieftain Dino Melaye, further strengthen Atiku’s emergence as a leading figure within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Political observers say the outcome reflects Atiku’s deep-rooted political structures and nationwide support network as opposition parties continue strategic realignments ahead of the next presidential contest.
