Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has emotionally mourned the passing of her colleague and close friend Alexx Ekubo.………
Taking to the Instagram Stories section of her page, the actress recounted how she repeatedly tried to reach out to and see the late actor, but he consistently reassured her that he was fine.
According to reports circulating online, Alexx Ekubo passed away at the age of 40 after reportedly battling stage 4 liver cancer. The actor was widely known for his roles in romantic comedies and drama films and remained one of Nollywood’s notable screen personalities.
Expressing her grief, Funke Akindele wrote that she desperately wanted to see him one last time, pray with him, and hold his hands, but he kept assuring her that everything was okay.
“I really tried to reach out, to see you one more time but guess you knew best. May your kind soul rest in peace Alex. Ore mi, like you fondly called me, I will always remember and cherish the good times we shared together,” she wrote in part.
The actress further revealed that she kept sending him voice notes and messages because she sensed something was wrong, but he chose to keep his struggles private.
Funke Akindele added that she would deeply miss his kind heart and the friendship they shared, describing the situation as heartbreaking.
