The family of late police officer George Makori has broken its silence following reports that the officer may have fathered several children before his untimely death, saying they are ready to welcome and care for any child proven to be his.

In an emotional statement shared online, Geoffrey Mosiria, who said he was Makori’s uncle, described the pain of losing the officer, who was serving at Lodwar Police Station at the time of his death.
“It is with deep pain and sorrow that I have just confirmed the heartbreaking news of the passing of my nephew,” the family member wrote, explaining that they first came across reports of Makori’s death online before confirming the tragic news through the family.
Mosiria revealed that Makori had endured a difficult upbringing after losing both parents at a young age, saying the family had raised and supported him throughout his life.
“I watched this young man grow up after he lost both his parents, who were my first cousins, at a tender age. Seeing him leave us so suddenly is a devastating loss to the entire family,” the statement added.

Addressing rumours circulating on social media about Makori allegedly having multiple partners and children, the family said no child connected to the deceased should be hidden or abandoned.
“To those claiming that he had multiple partners and many children, please do not run away or hide them. Bring my grandchildren home,” the relative stated.
The family further disclosed that they had already put in place DNA identification procedures to ensure every genuine child is recognised and welcomed into the family.
They also defended their cultural background, noting that polygamy has historically been part of their lineage and should not be misunderstood or judged negatively.
As they continue mourning, the family appeals for prayers, privacy, and respect during the difficult period.
