A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after accusing a hospital of refusing to attend to a critically ill patient because he could not make immediate payment for treatment.

According to the man, the incident happened after he rushed the patient to the hospital in an emergency condition, hoping medical workers would quickly provide help. He claimed that instead of beginning urgent treatment, hospital officials allegedly demanded payment before attending to the patient.

The emotional man, who shared his frustration publicly, said he was left helpless as the patient’s condition continued to worsen. He explained that he pleaded with the medical staff to save the patient first while he searched for money, but his appeals were allegedly ignored.

Eyewitnesses around the hospital reportedly expressed anger over the situation, with some criticizing the country’s healthcare system and the increasing complaints about emergency patients being denied treatment over financial issues.

The incident has also triggered debate, many Nigerians shared similar experiences involving hospitals demanding deposits before providing urgent care. Some users argued that hospitals face challenges such as unpaid medical bills and lack of resources, while others insisted that saving lives should always come first during emergencies.

Healthcare experts have repeatedly emphasized the importance of emergency response in hospitals, especially in life-threatening situations. Many citizens are now calling on authorities to investigate the allegations and strengthen policies that protect patients in emergency cases.
