Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Momodu discussed opposition politics, zoning debates, and possible strategies political parties may adopt before the next general election.………
According to him, too much attention is currently being placed on personalities and regional politics rather than on practical solutions to Nigeria’s major challenges.
He argued that issues such as insecurity, electricity, and economic hardship should be more important to Nigerians than the region a candidate comes from.
Momodu said: “I don’t understand why everyone thinks Obi is the Jesus Christ Nigeria needs. There are better candidates.”
According to him, he strongly disagrees with the growing belief that Nigeria’s future depends entirely on one political figure.
He also suggested that many political discussions are now driven more by emotion and public excitement than by realistic electoral calculations.
Momodu explained that politics should be approached strategically, insisting that elections are won through numbers, structures, and broad national support rather than social media popularity alone.
During the interview, he defended the position of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on the issue of zoning, arguing that opposition parties should focus more on presenting the strongest candidate capable of defeating an incumbent government.
He further warned against assuming that proposed opposition alliances would automatically succeed, stressing that Nigerian politics is far more complex than many people assume.
Momodu also reaffirmed his support for Atiku Abubakar, describing him as a politician who has consistently prepared himself for leadership over the years…....…
