Residents of a busy local market were thrown into panic after a 21-year-old woman was reportedly caught attempting to steal a baby before allegedly confessing to being involved in child trafficking activities.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened during peak business hours when traders and shoppers noticed unusual movements around a woman carrying a baby that was later discovered not to be hers. Suspicion reportedly grew after the child’s mother raised an alarm, attracting the attention of people nearby.

The young woman was allegedly intercepted by angry traders and passersby before she could leave the market area. In videos and accounts circulating online, the suspect was seen surrounded by a crowd as questions were thrown at her concerning the child.

Some witnesses claimed the suspect later admitted during interrogation that she steals babies and sells them to unknown buyers. Her alleged confession sparked outrage among residents, many of whom condemned the growing cases of child trafficking and kidnapping across different communities.

The situation reportedly caused heavy tension in the market as people gathered around the scene. Some residents called on security agencies to properly investigate the matter and uncover whether the suspect works alone or belongs to a larger trafficking network.

As of the time of filing this report, local authorities had not released an official statement regarding the incident. However, concerned residents have continued to urge parents to remain vigilant, especially in crowded public places such as markets, parks, and transport terminals.

Security experts advise parents and guardians to closely monitor their children in public areas and immediately report suspicious activities to the nearest authorities.
