A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, has dismissed claims that he holds personal grudges against former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi following his recent criticism of Obi.………
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Okonkwo said his comments about Obi were mild compared to the criticism he directed at other presidential candidates during the 2023 elections.
According to him, anyone seeking to become Nigeria’s president must be closely examined and questioned by the public. He explained that his political position is not driven by hatred for individuals but by his desire to see Nigeria become a better country.
Okonkwo also said he is focused on the future of the Igbo people and believes good leadership can end marginalisation in the country. He warned that he would strongly oppose any politician from the South-East who he believes is working against the interests and progress of Ndigbo for personal gain.
The ADC chieftain recently came under public attention after making remarks about Obi following the former Labour Party candidate’s exit from the ADC coalition talks.
In his words, “I’ve not even said anything against Pete Obi compared to what I said against other presidential candidates in 2023, Let me tell you, I have no personal grudges against anyone in my life.”
