Nairobi, Kenya: The family of the late Krystabel Anyango has explained how their dear daughter allegedly died at the hands of her young lover, only known as Henry.
The couple has been in an on-and-off relationship for some time punctuated by violence and gross neglect, and despite the concerns raised by her family, Krystabel, aka Bella, went to try the relationship with him again.
Eventually, she fell pregnant, and it is alleged that her lover neglected her in a dire condition until she returned home to be cared for by her mother. Later, she returned to Nairobi, but things didn’t improve.

On April 21, Bella asked her mum for KSh 1500 for fare to Kakamega, and she got it. On May 30, at 11pm, Henry sent a text saying his baby mama had collapsed and he was with her at the hospital.
The following morning the family received a call from someone who identified as a police officer, and he told them Bella was dead and her body was at the Veterans Hospital, but her sister said she found Bella’s body in a saloon car and not in the hospital.

On May 4, the postmortem said Bella had blunt object trauma on her head with swollen eyes and scars.
“She had been murdered. Henry had already been set free at Mlolongo Police and disappeared,” alleged Aketch.
Now, Bella’s family is asking for justice for their daughter; Bella will be buried on May 16, and leaves behind a one-year, four-month-old baby.
