The spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Habeeb Saleh Mohammed, has reacted to claims that former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso demanded the presidential ticket of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
This was contained in a report shared by VANGUARD on Thursday May 14 2026.
The claim followed remarks by the PRP National Chairman, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, who alleged that both politicians informed the party that they were presidential candidates and, on that basis, should be considered for the party’s ticket. He stated that the party rejected the idea, maintaining that it does not operate such a political arrangement.
In response, Mohammed dismissed the allegation, saying it does not reflect the reality of events. He explained that, to the best of his knowledge, there was no instance in which either Peter Obi or Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso approached the PRP to demand its presidential ticket.
He further maintained that neither of the two politicians formally presented themselves to the party with such a request, stressing that the narrative being circulated is not consistent with what transpired.
Here’s what he said,
“But otherwise, I don’t think there was a time, not to my knowledge, when they presented themselves to the PRP and demanded to be given the presidential ticket.’’
