The Lagos State Taskforce has confirmed the donation of safety kits to its officers by the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.
The spokesperson for the Taskforce, Abdulraheem Gbadeyan, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
According to Gbadeyan, the donated kits included protective boots and helmets.
He noted that the Executive Secretary of the LSSTF, Ayo Ogunsan, disclosed that the donation was aimed at enhancing the safety and well-being of the officers.
“You are awake so that others can sleep with both eyes closed. I am sure history will be kind to you for doing so at the expense of your own health and safety.
“Hence, the need for LSSTF to provide you with all these protective kits to safeguard yourselves. Help yourself, take care of your health,” Ogunsan was quoted as saying.
Gbadeyan noted that Ogunsan reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to strengthening the state’s security architecture, noting that the role of the Taskforce remains critical to maintaining a safe, secure, and habitable Lagos State.
“If Lagos State will remain safe, secure, and habitable, the role of the State Taskforce is not a pushover. The achievement will be dedicated to you and other security enforcement agencies,” the statement added.
In his response, Gbadeyan noted that the Taskforce Chairman, Adetayo Akerele, expressed appreciation to the LSSTF for their continuous support to the agency.
“He also charged officers to make effective use of the protective equipment provided, stressing that it would enhance both safety and service delivery in their operations. He assured that personnel would put the kits to proper use,” the statement concluded.
The LSSTF has continued to donate working tools to security agencies across the state as part of efforts to enhance the safety and security of residents.
Some of the beneficiaries included the Nigerian Army, the police, and other security agencies.
