The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has reported a sharp increase in revenue, hitting N4.97tn in April 2026, up from N2.77tn recorded in March.

This represents a 79 per cent month-on-month growth, according to the company’s April operational and financial report released on Saturday.

The report also showed that profit after tax rose to N481bn in April, compared to N276bn in March, marking a 74 per cent increase within the period under review.

NNPC disclosed that between January and April 2026, it remitted N3.71tn in statutory payments to the Federal Government, higher than the N2.89tn recorded in the first quarter of the year.

In terms of production, crude oil and condensate output rose to 1.68 million barrels per day in April, up from 1.56 million barrels per day in March, indicating a modest recovery in upstream operations.

Natural gas production remained stable at 7.7 billion standard cubic feet per day, while gas sales averaged 4.65 billion standard cubic feet per day. Pipeline availability in upstream operations stood at 79 per cent.

The company also reported progress on key infrastructure projects, including the successful crossing of the OB3 River Niger pipeline segment and continued work on the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano gas pipeline.

However, it noted operational challenges, including delays in the start-up of the Trans Ramos Pipeline due to leak detection and integrity issues.

NNPC also highlighted its corporate social responsibility activities, including the commissioning of three rehabilitated wards with 102 beds at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Lagos, and humanitarian support for flood victims in Mokwa, Niger State.

The company further disclosed that over 72,000 NYSC members were trained in basic financial literacy during the period under review.

The report attributed part of the improved performance to stronger upstream output, stable gas production, and ongoing infrastructure expansion across the energy value chain.
