Sevilla head coach Luis García has praised Nigerian striker Akor Adams after his decisive goal helped the club secure a 3-2 victory over Villarreal in LaLiga on Wednesday night.
Adams scored with a left-footed finish in the second half after receiving a pass from Djibril Sow.
The goal proved decisive as Sevilla claimed another important win in the campaign.
The Nigerian forward has now scored four match-winning goals for the Andalusian side this season, having previously delivered crucial strikes against Rayo Vallecano, Athletic Bilbao and RCD Espanyol.
Garcia hailed the striker’s contribution and work rate after the game.
He said via Futbol Fantasy: “Akor, now Akor again, is phenomenal.”
The Sevilla manager also praised Neal Maupay for his effort during the match.
Garcia said: “Maupay had a brutal job.
“Well, I hope I understand myself and, damn, what a tough guy and all.
“Maybe it’s not done yet.
“Until it’s done, I’m not going to relax for a second.
“Not a second.”
Adams has scored 10 goals and registered four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions this season.
