Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has submitted his presidential nomination forms at the secretariat of the African Democratic Congress in Abuja ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Amaechi disclosed this in a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday, where he formally declared his intention to contest for the presidency under the ADC platform.

“Today, I submitted my Presidential nomination forms at the ADC Secretariat, officially throwing my hat in the ring to salvage our country, Nigeria,” he wrote.

The former Rivers State governor said his ambition is driven by the need to restore hope, dignity and national unity.

“The mission is clear, we will fight to restore dignity to Nigerians, make our country great and respected in the comity of nations, and bring unity, peace, prosperity and progress to our people,” he added.

He concluded the message with the words, “Arise and Shine!”

The submission of the nomination forms marks a significant step in Amaechi’s preparations for the 2027 presidential race as political activities continue to gather momentum across party lines.
