According to him, Obi’s decision to leave the coalition showed that his presidential ambition had become more important than the broader struggle to address the hardship facing Nigerians.
The former minister argued that many politicians within the coalition sacrificed their own ambitions in order to build a united opposition front ahead of the 2027 election, he questioned why some leaders were unwilling to do the same for the sake of unity.
Dalung claimed that Obi’s actions now reflect the same style of politics the opposition had criticised in President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress, despite the recent political realignments, Dalung insisted that the ADC remains stronger than other opposition parties.
He maintained that the party is still in the best position to challenge for power in the 2027 presidential election and added that the ADC continues to attract support from different political groups and remains the major opposition platform to watch ahead of the polls.
“The same philosophy of Tinubu has been replicated by Peter Obi, because Peter Obi has proved that, oh, it is all about him, his personal ambition for presidency, and not for the interest of the suffering Nigerians,” he said.
