In a very disturbing incident that has left many people in shock, kidnappers in Ekiadolor, Edo State, reportedly called the family of their victim on video to demand ransom. The incident happened recently and has sparked anger and fear among residents.
According to sources close to the family, the kidnappers made a video call showing the victim in a bad condition. They warned the family to pay a huge amount of money or they would not see their loved one again. Family members said the call was very emotional and scary, with the victim pleading for help while the kidnappers shouted threats.
One family member, who did not want to be named, said: “We were just eating when the video call came in. We saw our brother looking weak and afraid. The kidnappers said if we don’t pay quickly, they will kill him. It was like a movie, but it was real.”
This sad event has raised fresh concerns about the rising cases of kidnapping in Edo State, even in communities that were once considered safe. Many people now fear travelling or staying in certain areas, especially at night.
