Siaya family in anguish as 23-year-old man with autism goes missing near home

Siaya – A family in Sigomere is living through days of fear and uncertainty after a 23-year-old man living with autism disappeared while walking home from an event.

Trevor Odhiambo was last seen on May 8 after attending the autism awareness conference with his mother.

His sister, Doryn Odhiambo, told GossipsNG that the pair were only minutes away from home when the family’s ordeal began.

Speaking emotionally about the disappearance, Doryn explained that her mother briefly stopped at a nearby shop while Trevor continued ahead alone on a route he knew well.

“It was just a five-minute walk to our place, and he was familiar with that route,” she said. But when their mother arrived home moments later, Trevor was nowhere to be found.

The family immediately began searching nearby streets, speaking to neighbours and checking places he was known to visit, but the search has so far yielded no answers.

“We searched for him everywhere and couldn’t find him up to now,” Doryn said. “We just pray and hope that he is safe wherever he is.”

The disappearance has been especially distressing for the family because Trevor has never spent time away from his mother due to his condition.

Loved ones say he depends heavily on familiar routines and close family support, making his sudden disappearance deeply worrying.

As days pass, relatives are clinging to hope that someone may recognise him and help reunite him with his family.

The family is now appealing to members of the public to remain alert and report any information that could help trace Trevor’s whereabouts.
