Super Eagles striker Simy Nwankwo ended the 2025/26 Saudi First Division League season in impressive fashion after scoring twice and providing an assist in Al-Orobah’s 3-1 victory over Al Anwar on Thursday.
The Nigerian forward produced another standout display at the Al-Oruba Club Stadium as Al-Orobah secured a third straight win to close the campaign.
Simy created the opening goal in the 17th minute when Sultan Al Jabri converted his assist to give the hosts the lead.
The 33-year-old doubled Al-Orobah’s advantage just a minute later after finishing Ahmed Al Juwaid’s delivery.
Al Anwar reduced the deficit in the 27th minute through Mohammed Al Hamdani before Simy completed his brace in the 79th minute after connecting with a pass from Fahad Al Munaif.
The performance capped a strong finish to the season for the former Crotone striker, who recorded eight goal involvements in his final four matches with six goals and two assists.
Simy finished the campaign with 31 goal contributions in 27 league appearances, scoring 27 goals and providing four assists.
His tally saw him finish as the Saudi First Division League’s joint top scorer alongside Sylla Sow.
The Nigerian also ended the season as the highest-scoring Nigerian player globally and registered three hat-tricks during the campaign.
Al-Orobah concluded the season in fifth position with 65 points after recording 20 wins, five draws and nine defeats in 34 matches.
Their strong finish secured promotion qualification after ending the season with three consecutive victories.
