US President Donald Trump has issued a firm warning to Iran, saying the United States is prepared to “finish the job” if Tehran does not accept Washington’s conditions aimed at resolving the ongoing tensions and curbing its nuclear programme.………
Speaking shortly before leaving for a major diplomatic visit, Trump stressed that stopping Iran from developing nuclear weapons remains a central goal of his administration. He suggested that there is very little space for negotiation under current circumstances.
Citing the Times of Israel, he maintained that Iran must either agree to a deal set by the United States or face serious consequences. “They’ll either do the right thing, or we’ll finish the job,” he said, reinforcing his administration’s tough position.
Trump also downplayed concerns about the possible economic effects of the standoff, including inflation and instability in financial markets. He insisted that such issues do not shape his decisions, arguing that national security must come first.
“The only thing I care about is that Iran does not get a nuclear weapon,” he said, framing the issue as a critical matter of both U.S. and global security.
He further expressed confidence that the United States would succeed one way or another, whether through negotiations or force if necessary. While he acknowledged that a peaceful agreement was still possible, he said it could not be guaranteed.
Trump also accused Iran of sending mixed signals in the past regarding its nuclear intentions, claiming that earlier indications of willingness to abandon nuclear weapons were later contradicted.
Commenting on regional dynamics, he referenced Pakistan as a possible helpful intermediary in managing tensions, noting its involvement in broader diplomatic discussions.
Overall, he insisted that the United States remains firmly in control of the situation as tensions with Iran continue to evolve.
