The City Boy Movement in Gombe state has announced the termination of the appointment of Dunijir Gatama as its state coordinator.

In a statement issued on Friday, Mubarak Hamisu Usman, state director of the movement, said the decision takes immediate effect.

Usman said the action followed findings that Gatama engaged in activities inconsistent with the objectives and political direction of the group.

Part of the statement read: “The leadership of City Boy Movement, Gombe State Chapter, wishes to inform its members, supporters, stakeholders, and the general public that the appointment of Mr. Dunijir Gatama as the State Coordinator of the movement has been terminated with immediate effect.

“This decision follows findings indicating actions and activities that are inconsistent with the objectives, principles, and political direction of the City Boy Movement.

“After careful consideration, the leadership deemed it necessary to relieve him of his responsibilities in order to protect the integrity and unity of the movement.”

The movement directed Gatama to return all materials belonging to the organisation, adding that it remains committed to its vision and political objectives and urged members to remain united.

“Consequently, Mr. Dunijir Gatama has been directed to hand over all properties, documents, and official materials belonging to the City Boy Movement that are in his possession without delay.

“The City Boy Movement remains committed to its vision, mission, and support for the leadership and political aspirations it represents.

“Members are therefore encouraged to remain focused, united, and steadfast in advancing the goals of the movement,” the group stated.

The organisation added that steps were being taken to ensure continuity of its activities across the state.

“The leadership assures all supporters that necessary measures are being taken to ensure continuity and effective coordination of activities across Gombe State,” the statement concluded.
