According to report by Nggossips on Sunday, May 31, 2026, a senior Federal Government delegation has arrived in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, in response to the abduction of approximately 46 pupils and teachers from Baptist Nursery and Primary Schools located in the Esiele and Yawota communities of Orire Local Government Area.

The development was disclosed on Sunday by Sunday Dare, former Minister of Youth and Sports Development and current Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Public Communications, through a post on his X account.

According to Dare, the delegation moved directly to the affected communities shortly after arriving in Ogbomoso to evaluate the security situation and coordinate the Federal Government’s response to the incident.

The high-powered team is headed by the President’s Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

Other members include the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (retd.); Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe; and Sunday Dare.

Dare stated that President Tinubu had already ordered a comprehensive security operation aimed at securing the release of the kidnapped victims and ensuring that those behind the attack are identified and brought to justice.

Describing the situation, he said armed men carried out coordinated attacks on Baptist Nursery and Primary Schools in Esiele and Yawota, abducting dozens of pupils and teachers during the raids.

He emphasized that the Federal Government is working closely with security agencies to guarantee the safe rescue of the victims while intensifying efforts to track down and apprehend the kidnappers.

The visit by the presidential delegation underscores the seriousness with which the Federal Government is treating the incident, as authorities continue to mobilize resources and strengthen security measures in the affected communities.

Officials expressed optimism that ongoing operations would lead to the successful rescue of the abductees and the prosecution of those responsible for the crime….See More
