A clear contrast emerged during the presidential primaries of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Ward A4, Ikorodu, on Saturday, 23rd May, 2026, as supporters of Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye reportedly dominated the election ground with a massive turnout, while only a few supporters associated with Hon. Gafaar Bolowotan were seen at the venue.

The primaries in Ikorodu Constituency I  witnessed a strong presence of party loyalists aligned with Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye, as large crowds gathered to participate in the voting exercise in support of President Tinubu.

Supporters were actively involved throughout the process, creating an energetic political atmosphere around the polling area.

In contrast, only a small number of individuals linked to Hon. Gafaar Bolowotan were observed at the venue.

The supporters, seen wearing coordinated branded outfits, appeared noticeably fewer compared to the crowd mobilized by Hon. Ogunleye’s camp.

Allegations also circulated among observers that some of the individuals were mobilized with financial incentives, although such claims remained unverified at the time of reporting.

Political observers at the venue described the turnout as a visible reflection of grassroots strength and political influence of Hon. Gbolahan within Ward A4.

Many voters pointed to the overwhelming presence of Hon. Ogunleye’s supporters as evidence of stronger local acceptance and wider political reach ahead of future party activities in Ikorodu constituency 1

Security personnel maintained order throughout the exercise as party officials supervised the peaceful conduct of the primaries.
