The 2027 All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) House of Representatives candidate for Ebonyi/Ohaukwu, Chief Tochukwu Ogalagu, has called on political actors to uphold electoral integrity as the truest way to honour Nigeria’s democratic heroes.

The philanthropist, known as T-Man, said this in his Democracy Day message released in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.

Ogalagu said June 12 remains a symbol of the fight for justice, transparency, and supremacy of voters’ will.

He said: “As we celebrate democracy, we must renew our commitment to justice, fairness, and accountability.

“Democracy cannot thrive where manipulation, intimidation and result falsification are tolerated.

“The day reminds us of Nigerians’ courage in defending democracy after the annulment of the June 12, 1993 election, widely acclaimed the freest and fairest in our history.”

Ogalagu warned against violence and divisive politics ahead of 2027.

He said: “Politics should be driven by ideas and service, not personal attacks. Stakeholders must embrace issue-based campaigns, tolerance and democratic civility.”

He urged Nigerians to vote for competence, integrity and performance above party, ethnicity or other sentiments.

The APGA flag bearer congratulated President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the National Assembly, commending Governor Francis Nwifuru, his wife Uzoamaka, and Deputy Governor Princess Patricia Obila for advancing Ebonyi’s “People’s Charter of Needs”.

Ogalagu charged Ebonyi/Ohaukwu voters to stay law-abiding and defend their mandate in 2027.

He noted that APGA remains committed to credible and people-oriented leadership.

He added that his community interventions have created over 1,000 jobs and supported healthcare, education, agriculture and infrastructure.

If elected, he pledged legislative reforms to boost social justice, SMEs, credit access for traders and farmers, and living standards.
