By Dayo Johnson, Akure

The Ondo State Government has assured residents that security agencies are making significant progress in efforts to rescue nine-year-old Olaosebikan Victor, who was abducted by gunmen in Igbosi Community, Idogun, in Ose Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement issued in Akure, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, expressed deep concern over the attack and abduction, while urging residents to remain calm.

Ajanaku said a coordinated security operation was activated immediately after the government was informed of the incident.

According to him, personnel of the Amotekun Corps, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services>, and the military have launched intensive search operations across the community, surrounding forests and other strategic locations.

“The Ondo State Government wishes to assure residents that the security situation is being closely monitored and professionally managed,” the statement said.

He added that security measures have been strengthened in the area, while intelligence gathering and search operations are ongoing to track down and apprehend the perpetrators.

The government urged residents of Ose Local Government Area and neighbouring communities to remain vigilant and cooperate with security personnel by providing useful information through established channels.

Ajanaku reiterated the commitment of the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to the protection of lives and property across the state.

He expressed confidence that the joint security operation would yield positive results and lead to the safe rescue of the abducted child.

The commissioner also commended the swift response of the security agencies and advised the public to report suspicious activities, while avoiding the spread of unverified information capable of causing panic.
