A Kenyan man shared an inspiring account of how he sued his former landlord in court and recovered his rent deposit, despite not having a lawyer.

Speaking to NgGossips, the man said his ex-landlord refused to refund his deposit after he vacated the house, and feeling frustrated but determined, he decided to sue the former.

He represented himself in court, and according to him, the total cost of filing the case was about Ksh 1,200, broken down into Ksh 200 for filing fees and Ksh 1,000 for a commissioner of oaths.

2. Family of Huduma Centre employee killed in crash mourns

Five people died after a Detat matatu crashed along Enterprise Road in Nairobi, with scores also getting injured in the process.

Among the victims were Huduma Centre employee, Charles Wahome, who had just come from work and was travelling home.

Wanjiru Chege, Charles’ grieving sister, accused the driver of reckless behaviour and described how the news of his death devastated their mother.

3. Truck driver declines to give lift to elderly woman

A video clip showing an elderly woman walking all alone at night along the Mombasa–Nairobi Highway sparked concern online.

The woman was filmed around the Masimba area, and she was reportedly seeking a lift, but many people did not oblige.

According to the truck driver who recorded the video, he chose not to offer her a lift because of safety concerns.

The incident happened on Friday, June 5, and the man allegedly used acid to inflict serious burn injuries on his wife and kids before turning on himself.

While speaking to the media, their neighbour narrated how one of the little boys pleaded for his life, but his father meted untold violence to the whole family.

5. Dad of Utumishi Girl buried in Kwale questions Sonko’s intentions

The father of Zuhura Rama credited Msambweni MP Feisal Abdallah with taking care of the costs associated with the burial of his daughter.

The grieving father explained that Mike Sonko only contributed KSh 50,000 to help feed mourners at home after all other responsibilities were taken over by the MP.

Mzee Rama also criticised Sonko for publicising his support on social media and added that the family could refund him if he had ulterior motives for offering assistance.
