Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke-Afa, Lagos, has revealed that he foretold the defeat of Senator Ned Nwoko and former Ogun State governor Gbenga Daniel during the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.
Several notable politicians, including Nwoko, Daniel, and Ibilunle Amosun, failed in their attempts to secure tickets to return to the National Assembly following the APC primaries.
Ned Nwoko lost his bid to former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa, while Gbenga Daniel lost to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Reacting to the outcome of the primaries, Primate Ayodele stated that the defeats did not come as a surprise to him, insisting that he had already warned the politicians during previous church services.
Known for his prophetic comments on politics, governance, and national issues, Ayodele explained that he had cautioned the affected politicians about pursuing their ambitions, revealing what he claimed would happen if they proceeded with the contests.
Speaking on Gbenga Daniel’s failed bid, the cleric said a “higher authority” had already decided the outcome against the former governor long before the primary election was conducted.
According to Ayodele, Daniel’s political struggle would only expose him to embarrassment because the matter had already been settled internally.
“These were my words,” Ayodele said.
“The issue of Dapo and Gbenga Daniel. Gbenga Daniel doesn’t know that his party doesn’t love him. What happened is from the higher authority, and that may be the end of the case, so if Gbenga is struggling, they will just be mocking him.”
Despite efforts to secure a return ticket to the Senate, Gbenga Daniel eventually stepped down just hours before the primary election after it became apparent that the political odds were not in his favour.
Ayodele also maintained that he prophesied Ned Nwoko’s defeat ahead of the Delta APC primary, insisting that the party leadership had already decided to hand the ticket to Ifeanyi Okowa.
According to him, many people doubted the prophecy at the time, but the primary outcome later validated his warning.
“These were my words,” he added.
“Okowa and Ned senate ticket; they want to give it to Okowa, so watch, they will fail you Ned.”
As events unfolded, Nwoko lost the primary election to Okowa by a wide margin.
Primate Ayodele has made headlines for comments and prophecies relating to political developments, elections, governance, and public affairs in Nigeria.
