Enugu Residents Ready to Re-Elect Mbah, Align With APC — Ejeh Josh

Political analyst and public affairs commentator, Prince Ejeh Josh, has stirred fresh debate in Enugu political circles after delivering a sweeping assessment of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration, the role of the APC in Igbo politics, and the future of governance in Nigeria.

Speaking from the perspective of political sociology, Ejeh argued that the 2023 general elections in Enugu State reflected widespread frustration among residents with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he said had failed to meet public expectations after years in power.

According to him, Governor Peter Mbah emerged victorious not because of party loyalty, but due to what he described as the governor’s “proven competence, integrity, and track record.”

He further claimed that both the APC-led federal government and APC-controlled states have delivered more developmental benefits to the South-East region and Enugu State than previous administrations, insisting that available data and governance indices support the argument.

Ejeh maintained that many residents of Enugu State are now willing to support Mbah for another term, adding that political alignment with the APC remains beneficial to Ndi Igbo.

“Governor Mbah has transformed the fortunes of Enugu State and restored confidence in governance. Many people now believe continuity is necessary for sustained development,” he stated.

The analyst also took a swipe at the PDP, describing the party as “beyond redemption,” while criticizing unnamed politicians he accused of incompetence and credibility issues.

He further referenced the political journey of former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, noting his movement across different political parties over the years, including APGA, PDP, Labour Party, ADC, and NDC.
