A newborn baby has been rescued by Good Samaritans after being found buried under a mound of soil near Ngabubu Dam in a shocking incident that has left residents shaken.

According to witness Kenneth Karanja, the infant, believed to be only a few days old, was discovered partially covered with earth, with only the face visible above the soil.

Photos from the scene showed the tiny baby lying helplessly as concerned residents carefully removed the soil to avoid causing any injuries.

The rescuers quickly rushed the child to Kihara Hospital for medical attention, where the infant was confirmed to be safe and receiving treatment.
Residents who witnessed the rescue described the moment as heartbreaking, with many struggling to understand how anyone could abandon such a young child in those conditions.
Witnesses praised the swift response of the Good Samaritans whose actions are believed to have saved the baby’s life.
Some said the infant might not have survived much longer had passers-by not noticed movement in the soil.

Kenyans condemn Gachie act
The incident has sparked outrage and sadness online, with many Kenyans calling for investigations to establish who abandoned the child and why.
Others used the moment to urge struggling parents to seek help rather than abandoning children in dangerous circumstances.

Vihiga infant dumped in latrine
In Vihiga, residents were heartbroken and left with many questions after a newborn baby was found abandoned in a pit latrine.
Well-wishers pulled the youngster out of the pit and called officers from Mbale Police Station to confirm the incident.
