The Senate Minority Whip and Senator Representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Senator Dr Tony Nwoye has felicitated Nigerian Children as they commemorate this year’s Children’s Day.
The Senator described Children as the nation’s most valuable asset and noted that this day provides an opportunity for the country to celebrate the young ones and acknowledge the important role they play in the nation’s future.
The Senator emphasized that providing quality education, proper healthcare, and protection from all forms of abuse is the best path to a happy and fulfilling future for Nigerian children.
The Senator urges the authorities at all levels in Nigeria to recognise the critical importance of issues that affect the well-being, happiness and growth of the Nigerian child and to give them priority in their plans and actions. He urged the Federal Government to do all he can for the release of innocent Children who were kidnapped in Oyo State.
“I also want to use the opportunity of the occasion to appeal to states that have not domesticated the Child’s Rights Act 2003 to do so in the best interest of the Nigerian Child.
“Let us all remain ever conscious of our duty to bring up our children with the right orientation and to bequeath to them a peaceful and prosperous society,” Senator Nwoye said.
Senator Nwoye wishes Nigerian children a happy celebration wherever they are in the country.
