Media personality Daddy Freeze has spoken on the death of late actor Alex Ekubo.
In a video on his Instagram page, he said Alex’s breakup with his ex-fiancée, Fancy Acholonu, broke him. According to him, Alex was at his house one day, and it was clear that the breakup affected him.
He said he remembered telling him to tell the world his story, but he refused and never recovered from the scandal. Freeze notes that the late actor always minded his business, but his ex broke him by dragging him out on social media.
Daddy Freeze stressed that the actor didn’t rise from the scandal until he disappeared. He noted how some people will deliberately leave you because they know it will break you.
The media personality added that Alex died of cancer because he had no strength left to fight, and he wasn’t in the right frame.
“After Alex and his ex broke up, he was at my house one day, and you would see that the breakup really affected him. I remember telling him to tell the world his side of the story, but he refused. He never recovered from that scandal. Alex was someone who always minded his business. His ex didn’t try at all. Let us tell ourselves the truth. It was at the point of that breakup that Alex started going down
He never rose again after that scandal until he finally disappeared. Some people will deliberately leave you because they know it will break you. The breakup broke Alex. He died of cancer; he had no strength left to fight. He was not in the right frame of mind”.
Recall that in May, 2021, Alex left many people heartbroken after he announced his wedding date with his fiancee Fancy Acholonu.
The announcement was made barely a week after he declared his engagement to her. Alex said the traditional wedding would hold in Imo state on November 21, 2021, while the white wedding will hold in Lagos on November 27, 2021.
Unfortunately, the engagement was short lived, as later that year, they broke up. The dissolution of Alex Ekubo’s engagement was made known to the public by his ex-fiancé Fancy Acholonu, with the actor being silent on the matter.
In 2023, the American model issued a public apology to the actor earlier this year after she embarrassed him last year by calling off their wedding on social media and asking him to “live his truth” which had many insinuating that he is gay.
Interestingly, days after she made the public apology, she reiterated and claimed that Alex Ekubo forced her to put the apology post to save his face. She was upset that he didn’t live up to his end of the bargain after tendering the apology.
Hell-bent on exposing him, Fancy Acholonu further revealed that in their 5 years of relationship, he never touched her, and that she had been forced by Alex into tendering a public apology. The model seemed distressed over the issue, and she constantly called out Alex Ekubo, but the handsome actor gave no further response.
An audio recording of Alex Ekubo explaining why he wasn’t sure of how to respond to her public apology, surfaced online. Alex told her that he is a calculating person and wouldn’t respond to her apology. He said he didn’t want them to go back and forth and promised that she would always be his friend.
Acholonu had revealed why she can’t spill the tea on their failed engagement. She described him as a full-blown narcissist and borderline socíopath, stating that Nigerians wouldn’t understand what it’s like for her to deal with a partner like him
Not done, Fancy, finally revealed why she called off their engagement. She claimed that Alex was trying to ruin her and her reputation because she left him. She stressed how she endured so much with Alex, from his cheating to his lies and lots more. But for him to make her constantly apologise to him was wrong.
In a leaked audio, the light-skinned actor faulted his fiancée for her ulterior motive behind the post. He noted that Fancy wouldn’t be making the apology if she had found someone else and was living in paradise. He further stated that he doesn’t see any harm in her trying to rekindle their relationship, as there were reasons why they fell in love.
