Imo East APC aspirant Enwere pulls out of senatorial race

Honourable Belusochukwu Michael Enwere has pulled out of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial race for Imo East, just days before the party primaries.

In a statement released on Sunday, May 17, Enwere announced his decision to step down following extensive consultations with his family, supporters, political associates, and key leaders of the APC.

“After wide consultations with my family, supporters, political associates, and leaders of our great party, I have decided to step down from the contest for the Imo East Senatorial seat,” Enwere said.

He described the decision as difficult but necessary, stating it was made “in the interest of peace, unity, and the progress of our people.”

The aspirant also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, and the APC for the opportunity and support extended to him during the race.

“I sincerely appreciate Mr President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; my Governor, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, and our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the opportunity and support given to me throughout this process,” Enwere said.

He also thanked his supporters for their unwavering belief in his vision.

Enwere reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Imo East Senatorial Zone and urged his followers to remain calm and united in support of the party’s collective interest.

“I remain committed to the development of our senatorial zone and will continue to contribute positively to the growth of our party and society.

“I urge all my supporters to remain calm, united, and continue supporting the collective interest of our people,” he stated.
