Karani revealed that she received a message informing her that Issah had passed away, with the family thoughtfully reaching out to people listed in his phone contacts to notify them of his death and provide burial details.

Message Karani received from Issah’s family

Reached for comment, she told NgGossips that it all started when she received a message from Issah’s family informing her that her friend, who had her number, had passed on.

“They had the courtesy of texting everyone in his contact list informing them of his passing and the burial date,” she wrote, describing the gesture as “noble” and deeply considerate.

Reflecting on how quickly news of death now circulates online, she added that modern life has made grief both immediate and overwhelming, with social media often filled with multiple obituary posts in a single day.

“Nowadays, death comes without knocking,” she said, noting how people often encounter sudden posts of acquaintances who appeared “full of life” just days before.

She also shared a personal experience involving her late brother, recalling how a friend once reached out years after his passing, unaware of his death.

The conversation, she said, ended abruptly once she broke the news, underscoring how delayed information can intensify grief and shock.

For Karani, the proactive notification by Issah’s family stood out as a rare but meaningful act in today’s digital communication landscape.

She argued that such messages help close gaps between friends and acquaintances, giving people time to process loss and mourn appropriately.

“I applaud you, family of the late Issah Cheprot. My condolences,” she concluded.

“My dad passed on in 2011, and I was tasked to call all his contacts and inform them of his death. One of the toughest jobs to do. Listening to their responses, especially from his close friends and associates, left me in tears for many days.”

Seroney Chemtai

“Let me not tell you about my dad because wueh. It happened so fast. Tulieka on simu yake a month after his burial, and it wasn’t easy. Most of his friends didn’t know he rested. Four years later, another one called mum in February.”

Nancy Nekesa

“May his soul rest in peace. Just noticed a week ago that a friend died one year ago. Thanks to the family for contacting the phone list. Very important.”
