Beatrice Wanja arrived at the hospital at just 22 weeks pregnant, carrying quadruplets in what doctors recognised as an extremely high-risk pregnancy.

With both the mother and babies facing serious complications, medical teams immediately moved to closely monitor her condition and stabilise her health.

According to a statement from the hospital, Beatrice spent nearly three months under intensive observation as specialists worked around the clock to manage her blood pressure.

They also ensured they prevented life-threatening complications that could have endangered both her life and those of her unborn children.

On Wednesday, May 13, at 34 weeks pregnant, Beatrice successfully delivered her four babies through a Caesarean section.

Born prematurely, the four newborns were immediately transferred to the hospital’s Newborn Unit, where they are receiving specialised care.

The babies’ birth weights were recorded as 1,950 grammes, 1,490 grammes, 1,790 grammes and 1,110 grammes.

Despite the emotional and physical challenges of the journey, Beatrice expressed deep gratitude to the medical team that cared for her and her children.

“My deepest gratitude to the entire team at Kenyatta National Hospital. They gave me and my babies a fighting chance,” she said.
