Naomi Nyachiro Kemunto, aka Omochokoro O Nyambori, who worked as a waitress, died just months after making the haunting post that has now gone viral across social media platforms.

In October 2023, Naomi shared a photograph of herself accompanied by words that many of her followers are now describing as chilling in hindsight.

“Na hii itakuwa sawa kwa cover ya eulogy. Hiyo siku ikifika. Btw tutaaga siku ikifika. Na msije hapa eti ooh. The Bible is clear. Thank you,” she wrote.

Roughly translated, the message suggested that the photo would be suitable for the cover of her eulogy whenever her day came, while also cautioning people against excessive mourning because “the Bible is clear”.

At the time, some followers treated the post as dark humour, while others interpreted it as a reflection on the uncertainty of life.

Few could have imagined that the same photograph and words would later resurface following news of her death.

Her passing has left friends, relatives and online followers heartbroken, especially after it emerged that she had remained active on social media shortly before her death.

Her final post, shared on March 31, carried a message of hope for better days ahead.

“Last day of March, hoping that April gives us peace of mind, genuine love, happiness and healing,” she wrote.

A spot check shows that Naomi was still engaging with comments and conversations just hours before news of her death began circulating.

As tributes continue to pour in, many people have described her as cheerful, outspoken and full of life, with others reflecting on how unpredictable life can be.

Her story resonated with Kenyans online, many of whom admitted they were shaken by how casually she had once spoken about death, only for the moment to arrive far sooner than anyone expected.

Others used the moment to encourage people to check in on friends and loved ones more often, saying social media posts can sometimes hide silent struggles or deep personal reflections.

Funeral and burial arrangements are expected to be communicated by the family in the coming days.
