The All Progressives Grand Alliance has declared lawyer, Chukwudi Oli, as the winner of its House of Representatives primary for the Njikoka/Dunukofia and Anaocha Federal Constituency of Anambra State ahead of the January 16, 2027, general elections.

The party’s returning officer for the constituency primary election, Ejimofor Opara, announced the results at the Njikoka Local Government Area headquarters in Abagana on Tuesday night.

According to Opara, Oli polled 10,566 votes to defeat other contestants in the primary election.

Other candidates included Udoji Chike, who scored 14 votes; Tochukwu John, who secured 2,257 votes; Oha Chisom, who polled 3,418 votes; and Okoye Charles, who recorded 24 votes.

The total number of votes cast in the election stood at 16,742.

Opara said Oli satisfied all requirements of the party and electoral guidelines, noting that he secured the highest number of valid votes cast in the contest.

Reacting to the outcome, Oli thanked the National Working Committee of the party, the party’s national leader and Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, as well as APGA supporters in the constituency for their support.

“I am in the race to change the political status quo of Njikoka/Dunukofia and Anaocha Federal Constituency,” Oli said.

“I am touched by the confidence the people have reposed in me. I am touched by the love the people have shown me and I have only promised I will never disappoint them.”

The legal practitioner pledged to provide quality representation if elected during the 2027 general elections.

“Being a grassroots politician, I will ensure that my representation brings a smile to the faces of my constituents, if elected at the 2027 general elections,” he added.

Oli also commended members of the media for their role during his consultations ahead of the primary election victory.
