Nigerian rapper Ice Prince has revealed why he is not in a hurry to walk down the aisle, admitting that the realities of modern marriages now make him fearful of settling down.

Speaking during a podcast interview with media personality Rufai Oseni, the 39-year-old rapper said he has become increasingly concerned about how quickly many marriages collapse shortly after lavish wedding ceremonies.
According to the rapper, the emotional stress, financial burden and public drama surrounding marriages today have made him reconsider the idea of getting married anytime soon.

Ice Prince disclosed that many of his friends frequently approach him for financial help to fund their weddings, a situation he said he does not want to experience personally.
The rapper, however, noted that he may eventually consider marriage later in life, possibly around the age of 40, adding that some of the people he admires, including veteran rapper M.I Abaga, got married at that stage in life.
Beyond marriage, the rapper also shared some of his future ambitions, revealing plans to return to school and eventually own and manage a farm.
He added that he does not see himself actively releasing albums at the age of 40, suggesting he intends to transition into a different phase of life as he grows older.
In his words:
“These days I get scared of this marriage thing more and more everyday because I see people get married and in less than a year they want out.
“I see the drama people go through to get married, the stress about borrowing money. My friends are constantly reaching out to me to borrow money to get married and I don’t want to be that person.
“I’m hoping that maybe when I am 40. Some of my mentors got married at that age, somebody like M.I Abaga got married at that age. Maybe when I’m that age I’ll probably be thinking about that. For now I don’t intend to.
“Also I have other goals when I’m 40. I intend to go to school. I really want to go to school so bad and I’d like to run a farm when I’m that age. I don’t intend to be dropping albums when I’m 40.”
