As Nigeria marks the annual Children’s Day celebrations, the Commissioner of Police for the Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has described children as the vital foundation for national development and security.

The CP emphasized that the choices made in protecting and nurturing children today directly shape the socio-economic and political future of Nigeria.

A statement issued on Wednesday by the Ogun State Police Command disclosed that CP Ojajuni stated this when he hosted the management and students of the Police Secondary School, Sagamu, at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, to commemorate the 2026 Children’s Day celebration.

The statement, signed by the Spokesperson for the Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the delegation was led by the school’s Commandant, CSP Nanloh Rindap.

Speaking during the visit, Rindap commended CP Ojajuni for his exemplary leadership, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the welfare, discipline, and development of officers, personnel, and members of the Police community.

He noted that the school has continued to benefit from the Command’s support, particularly in the areas of discipline, moral instruction, and educational development.

Speaking on behalf of the students, Miss Oluwadarasimi Adeyemo expressed appreciation to the Commissioner of Police and the management team of the Ogun State Police Command for their continuous encouragement and support towards students of the institution.

She further appreciated the Command for promoting values of discipline, academic excellence, and positive character development among young people.

Responding, CP Bode Ojajuni congratulated the students and children across Ogun State and Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, describing children as the future and leaders of tomorrow whose proper upbringing, education, and moral development remain essential to national growth and sustainable development.

The Commissioner urged the students to remain disciplined, focused on their studies, respectful to constituted authority, and committed to values that promote peace, unity, integrity, and patriotism.

He emphasized that through hard work, determination, and proper guidance, Nigerian children possess the capacity to become responsible leaders who will positively shape the future of the nation.

CP Ojajuni further reassured children, parents, and members of the public of the Ogun State Police Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring a safe, secure, and conducive environment for children to learn, grow, and achieve their aspirations without fear or intimidation.

Also speaking during the engagement, members of the Command’s management team commended the leadership of Police Secondary School, Sagamu, for its sustained commitment to academic excellence, discipline and moral instruction.

They encouraged the students to remain law-abiding, committed to their educational pursuits and determined to become responsible citizens and future leaders.

CP Ojajuni further reaffirms the Command’s commitment to supporting initiatives and programmes that promote youth development, educational advancement and institutional growth within the Police community and the society at large.
